Dr. Ruvyn Frank

Born and raised in KZN, Dr Frank completed his schooling at Maritzburg College. He read for his medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand and Specialised as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the UKZN Nelson Mandela School of Medicine. He later furthered his sub-speciality training in Foot and Ankle surgery and Arthroplasty.
Having gained valuable experience both locally and abroad, he is an honorary lecturer in Orthopaedics for UKZN and is involved in teaching as well as research.
Interests: Complex foot trauma, sports injuries, open / arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery, foot deformity correction and ankle arthroplasty

Dr Paul Hatfield returned to his hometown of Pietermaritzburg after completing his medical studies at the University of Cape Town. He continued his studies at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine in Durban where he qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Back in Pietermaritzburg he gained valuable experience at Edendale Hospital before completing a Hand Fellowship with Dr Mike Solomons at the University of Cape Town. He enjoys competing in Maritzburg’s iconic sports of paddling, running and cycling.
His interests lie in upper limb surgery, sports injuries, complex hand trauma and small joint arthroplasty.

Born and raised in Durban, completed his undergraduate and post-graduate training at the University of Cape Town as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Currently specialising in Hips and Knees, Andre is also one of the few surgeons proficient with robotic surgery.
He is still involved academically having presented both locally and internationally as a consultant lecturer.

Practiced in Ladysmith in a general orthopaedic practice. Commenced practice in Pietermaritzburg in a general orthopaedic practice in 1996. Interest – lumbar spine surgery, foot and ankle surgery, hip and knee arthroplasty, hand surgery and trauma.

Studied at the University of Cape Town for an undergraduate medical degree. Worked in the United Kingdom and Australia. He returned to South Africa and completed post-graduate training at the University of Cape Town and qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Fellowship in hip/knee and trauma surgery at Cape Hip and knee, with cited publications to his name. Interests in sports medicine, arthroscopic and lower limb surgery.
Greg has also had formal training in robotic surgery for hips and knees and is one of the main arthroplasty surgeons at PMB Mediclinic.

Born and raised in Gauteng and attended Parktown Boys High School. Completed his undergraduate degree in Medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand. He completed his internship at Baragwanath Hospital before relocating to Pietermaritzburg. He completed his postgraduate studies at the UKZN Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, earning a Higher Diploma in Orthopaedics as well as Specialization as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Spent a further 6 years at Edendale hospital developing his surgical skills. Served as HOD of orthopaedics at Edendale Hospital from 2014 till 2017.
Has lectured extensively on trauma and limb reconstruction locally and abroad. Special interests include trauma, bone infection & limb reconstruction, arthroplasty and arthroscopy.
